A Day for Pineapples

Today I went to the Dole Plantation! Honestly, I was debating whether or not I should spend the time traveling across the island to this location. I almost decided against it actually. However, I realized that I might not ever get the chance to visit so why not just spend half of my day exploring this part of the island. Boy am I glad I went!

At the plantation they have a garden maze which is labeled as the world's largest maze. I felt like a little kid running around trying to find my way. It started to rain but I was prepared and truthfully I did not care because it was still such a fun time.

I rode the train that takes tourists all throughout the large plantation where they grow different crops including cocoa, bananas, and, of course, pineapple. I was amazed at how big this field was and how much work goes into maintaining and shipping the pineapple acorss the country.

At the end of my day at Dole Plantation, I wanted to treat myself to some ice cream! Although it was pricey, I decided to splurg. The ice cream had fresh pineapples and I ate it so quickly. This was hands down the best pineapple I have ever had. The money was totally worth the tasteful experiance! Next time I buy fresh pineapple I will be sure to check the label to see if it came from the plantation in Oahu.
