A Special Night Out

Tonight while I was taking a walk through Waikiki, I came across a hula dancing show! I found so much peace and happiness while watching these women dance. The colors on their dresses were so beautiful and the show was right by the beach so the waves in the background made for a perfect show. I have never experienced something like this before, in fact, I had only seen hula dancers in movies and television shows before tonight! It was amazing to watch this part of the Hawaiian culture come to life in front of my eyes. The nice part about this show was that in between each performance, the judges gave background on the songs and the outfits. Therefore, I was able to learn even more about the history of hula dancing and the messages behind each dance.

Later in the night, I found a cute little sushi shop right on Waikiki and decided to treat myself to a late night snack! There is nothing like watching a hula dancing show then finishing the night off with some good food and tea by the beach.
